چکیده

Antidepressant drugs have been shown to reverse some changes evoked by glucocorticoids or stress. In the present study we attempted to find out whether imipramine, one of the most frequently used antidepressant drugs, interfered with glucocorticoids, modulating the production of IFNand IL-10, pro-inflammatory and anti-inflammatory cytokines, respectively. We observed a significant inhibitory effect of hydrocortisone, dexamethasone and the glucocorticoid receptor agonist RU 28362, used at doses of 10 and 10 M, on the production of IFNand IL-10 by whole blood cells stimulated by mitogens. Imipramine at doses of 10 and 10 M did not modulate IFNor IL-10 production, whereas at a dose of 10 M it increased the production of IL-10 and decreased that of IFN, those results being statistically insignificant, though. A combination of imipramine and dexamethasone or hydrocortisone at doses of 10 or 10 M significantly suppressed the production of IFNand IL-10, the level of inhibition being similar to that observed for glucocorticoids alone. The classic antidepressant imipramine was not able to modulate the suppressive effect of “stress” doses of hydrocortisone on the production of cytokines.

P92: Investigation of the Role of Glucocorticoid Receptors on the Anxiety in Mice: A Preliminary Report

Some studies suggested that glucocorticoid receptors activities can modulate fear and anxiety. According to that, the purpose of this research is to assess the modulatory effect of glucocorticoid receptors on the anxiety assessed in plus maze. In this research mice with medium weight of 20-25 g were used. The male and female animals separately sorted in two groups as control and experiment rand...

Protective effect of dizocilpine (MK-801) on TNBS-induced experimental colitis in mice

Ulcerative colitis is chronic and recurrent disease of the gastrointestinal tract with uncertain etiology and incomplete treatment options. N-methyl-d-aspartate (NMDA) receptor suppression has shown anti-inflammatory effects in vitro and in vivo. The aim of present study was to evaluate the role of dizocilpine (MK-801), a noncompetitive NMDA receptor antagonist, on TNBS (trinitrobenzene sulfoni...

Protective effect of interleukin-36 receptor antagonist on liver injury induced by concanavalin A in mice

Objective(s): Interleukin-36 receptor antagonist (IL-36Ra) is a new member of the IL-1 family that exhibits anti-inflammatory activity in a variety of inflammatory and immune diseases. Our purpose was to determine the effect of IL-36Ra on liver injury in a mouse hepatitis model induced by concanavalin A (ConA). Materials and Methods: Mic...

The Effect of High-Intensity Interval Training and Probiotic Consumption on Interleukin-10 and Interferon-Gamma Gene Expression of Gut Tissue in Animal Model of Fatty Liver

Aims: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common chronic liver disease, frequently reported in patients with inflammatory bowel disease. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of high-intensity interval training and probiotic consumption on the gene expression of interleukin-10 and interferon-gamma of gut tissue in animal model of fatty liver. Methods & Materials...
